I have an RD250E with a 400 engine fitted. Can anyone tell me what the differences are between the 250 and 400 frames?
Thanks

Thanks Merv

I would have expected the 250 & 400 frame to be the same. My doubt came from Dale Bothams article in Wella'RD where he aquired a 250 framed 400E and then bought an RD400 frame for it?.

hello

My first attempt was to buy a 400E frame from Nobby Clarke, which turned out to be a 250 frame under thick powder coat. Needless to say that particular thieving lowlife failed to pay any compensation despite the boasting that he was an honourable man and had reached agreement. Bother the honourable and agreement bit of that statement were a lie...lowlife scum is more like it.

Anyhow I bout another bike with a 250 frame an 400 motor and acquired a 400F frame with historym bought new by a friend who passed away 20 odd years ago.

Simply speaking i was buikding a 400 special so wanted a 400 frame. The 250 frames sit on my garage, all powder coated and nowhere to go.

Thanks Dale

Can you enlighten me to the difference in the 250 & 400 frames, or is it just a matter of having the correct part code on it?
Thanks
