Just had some 250F barrels re-bored to new genuine Yam pistons (+.25). Can someone confirm that pattern rings cannot be used and I must obtain genuine 2R8 rings. PJME advise I must use genuine as tapers different?

The top ring is a keystone type and the angle is critical. The lower one is more squared in profile but then some will be too thick to fit in the ring groove so yes PJME is correct

If they are patern 2R8 rings they should work, but I would stick to genuine yamaha. The E anf F use thinner rings than the C and D

Ah, I was thinking 400, dont think the E and F 250's are different to earlier models??? Got a load of pistons for all of them, must take a look
